چکیده

Background
Use of ultrasound guidance during supraclavicular brachial plexus block allows the usage a lower anesthetics dose and minimizing unwanted effects anesthesia.
Objective To compare success sensory blockade incidence hemidiaphragmatic dysfunction in patients receiving two different volume 0.75% Ropivacaine for guided block.
Method A prospective randomized double-blinded comparative study was conducted. Group (n=30) received 20 ml B 25 block. Hemodynamic parameters, oxygen saturation, diaphragmatic excursion, onset time completion were measured. Independent t-test, Chi-square test Mann-Whitney U used to analyze data at p value less than 0.05 using Statistical Package Social sciences (version 11.5).
Result At 30 minutes, 29 (96.67%) group 27 (90.0%) had no sensation median, radial, ulnar, musculocutaneous medial cutaneous nerves territories; however, it not significant statistically (p > 0.05). minutes A, (83.33%) hemiparesis five (16.67%) partial hemiparesis. However, three (10%) B, (6.67%) complete < Age sex effect on both groups 0.05).
Conclusion The with similar as compared higher Ropivacaine.

Ultrasound-guided supraclavicular brachial plexus block.

UNLABELLED In this study, we evaluated state-of-the-art ultrasound technology for supraclavicular brachial plexus blocks in 40 outpatients. Ultrasound imaging was used to identify the brachial plexus before the block, guide the block needle to reach target nerves, and visualize the pattern of local anesthetic spread. Needle position was further confirmed by nerve stimulation before injection. T...

Lack of Sex Difference in Minimum Local Analgesic Concentration of Ropivacaine for Ultrasound-Guided Supraclavicular Brachial Plexus Block

BACKGROUND Sex differences, which may be an important variable for determining anesthetic requirements, have not been well investigated in the aspect of local anesthetic. This investigation aimed to compare the minimum local analgesic concentration (MLAC) of ropivacaine for ultrasound-guided supraclavicular brachial plexus block (US-SCB) between men and women. MATERIAL AND METHODS Patients ag...

Anatomic Variation of Subclavian Artery Visualized on Ultrasound-Guided Supraclavicular Brachial Plexus Block

Use of ultrasonography for performance of nerve and plexus blocks has made the process simpler and safer. However, at times, variant anatomy of the visualized structures can lead to failure of blocks or complications such as intravascular injections. This is especially true in case of novice operators. We report a case of a variant branch of subclavian artery, possibly the dorsal scapular arter...

Effect of Nalbuphine as Adjuvant to Bupivacaine for Ultrasound-Guided Supraclavicular Brachial Plexus Block

Background: Nalbuphine is a derivative of 14-hydroxymorphine which is a strong analgesic with mixed k agonist and μ antagonist. Nalbuphine was studied several times as adjuvant to local anesthetics in spinal, epidural and local intravenous block. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of nalbuphine as an adjuvant to local anesthetics in supraclavicular brachial plexus block. Patients ...

Postoperative analgesic efficacy of different volumes and masses of ropivacaine in posterior brachial plexus block.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES The efficacy of posterior brachial plexus block for shoulder surgeries is demonstrated by different authors. However, there is no consensus on the ideal mass and volume of local anesthetic to be employed. The objetive of this study was to compare different volumes and masses of ropivacaine in posterior brachial plexus block in arthroscopic surgeries of the shoulder. ...
